Brothers and Sisters,
The Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) will be in effect September of 2008 for the following refineries: Sunoco Philadelphia, Sunoco Marcus Hook, Sunoco Frankford, Conoco-Phillips, and Valero.
*Those interested in getting this ID card should apply via the internet at https://twicprogram.tsa.dhs.gov/TWICWebApp.
*Application can also be made by phone by calling (1-866-347-8942) but this is NOT PREFERRED. Registration Number given must be remembered for Enrollment.
*After completing the needed data required for internet application, the applicant will “SUBMIT”. NOTE: This will require you to know the address and phone number of your employer, your date of birth, Social Security Number, height, weight, current address and previous address.
*Print your Pre-Enrollment Receipt. YOU WILL HAVE TO PRESENT THIS RECIEPT UPON ENROLLMENT.
* There is a $132.50 fee to secure the TWIC ID. TWIC is valid for 5 years. Payment options include Bank Check, Money Order, or Credit Card. PERSONAL CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Payment will occur at the BEGINNING of Enrollment.
* Upon being given an appointment for processing at a TWIC CENTER, you will need to present the PRE ENROLLMENT RECIEPT, or Registration Number (if by phone) and other documentation. Required documentation is a driver’s license and US Social Security Card.
* You will be photographed and fingerprinted.
* Current TWIC PROCESS CENTERS are Port of Wilmington and Phila Regional Port Authority Bldg. Other locations will be opening up throughout 2008.
Keep in mind, this is just the basic information I am supplying you with to apply for a TWIC card. There are other forms of ID accepted, qualification standards that must be met and certain crimes that will disqualify you from acquiring a TWIC Card. This information is found in its entirety on the web site listed above. This website link can also be found on the Local 520 website.
Thank You,
Scott Christ
